Not everything lacrosse happens on the field. Sometimes what we do off the field takes our game play to the next level. This year, Coach Mara gave the girls a homework assignment: Read the book, “The Hard Hat: 21 Ways to be a great teammate” by Jon Gordon and reflect on its messages. While I’m sure that this book had different meaning for each player, it was also the inspiration for this year’s team motto: Well Done is Greater than Well Said (WD > WS). To be a good player and teammate, it means you need to put in the work. It’s been a struggle for the past two years to work through the difficulties that COVID has given us, but these girls have truly put in the work and show us every day that WD > WS!
